1. Quotations & Estimates
1.1. Quotations are based on the information available to us at the time and are valid for 30 days, unless otherwise stated.
1.2. A quotation covers only the works and materials specifically described. Any additional work requested by the customer, or work found to be necessary once works have commenced, may be charged separately.
1.3. Where a quotation is described as an estimate, the final price may vary depending on the actual time, materials and work required.
2. Additional & Unforeseen Work
2.1. If additional work is required that was not reasonably foreseeable when the quotation was provided, we will inform the customer where reasonably practicable before carrying out the additional work.
2.2. Additional work will be charged at our agreed labour rate plus materials, unless an alternative price is agreed.
2.3. Where work is reasonably necessary to make an installation safe or prevent damage, we may recommend or carry out such work with the customer’s approval.
3. Payment
3.1. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due on completion of the works.
3.2. For larger projects, HC Pyramid Electrical LTD may require a deposit or staged payments. These will be agreed before work begins.
3.3. Invoices not paid by the due date may be subject to reasonable recovery costs and, where applicable, statutory interest.
3.4. Materials or equipment specifically ordered for a customer may require payment in advance.
4. Access & Delays
4.1. The customer must provide reasonable access to the property and relevant areas necessary for us to carry out the agreed works.
4.2. We will not be responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including delayed materials, supplier issues, severe weather, power outages or previously unknown conditions within the property.
4.3. If we are unable to carry out scheduled work because adequate access is not provided, a reasonable charge may apply for wasted time or additional visits.
5. Existing Electrical Installations
5.1. HC Pyramid Electrical LTD is not responsible for defects, faults or non-compliance relating to existing electrical installations that are outside the scope of the quoted works.
5.2. Where existing wiring or equipment is found to be unsafe, defective or unsuitable for the proposed work, we may recommend remedial work before continuing.
5.3. We will not be responsible for damage or failure to existing equipment where such damage or failure results from an existing defect, age, condition or fault that was not caused by our work.
6. Materials & Equipment
6.1. We will use materials and equipment that are reasonably suitable for the agreed works.
6.2. Where a specified product is unavailable, HC Pyramid Electrical LTD may use an equivalent product where reasonably appropriate. Where this materially affects the specification or price, customer approval will be sought where reasonably practicable.
6.3. Manufacturer warranties on supplied equipment will be passed to the customer where applicable.
7. Workmanship Guarantee
7.1. HC Pyramid Electrical LTD will carry out all works with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with applicable electrical requirements and regulations.
7.2. Unless otherwise stated on the quotation or invoice, our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion.
7.3. The workmanship guarantee does not cover faults caused by misuse, accidental damage, alterations by others, pre-existing faults, normal wear and tear, or failure of customer-supplied equipment.
7.4. Where a fault is reported within the guarantee period and is determined to be our responsibility, we will rectify the defective workmanship at no additional labour charge.
8. Customer-Supplied Materials
8.1. We may install customer-supplied materials or equipment at our discretion.
8.2. We cannot guarantee the suitability, compatibility, quality or manufacturer’s warranty of customer-supplied products.
8.3. Additional labour or costs resulting from unsuitable, defective or incomplete customer-supplied materials may be charged to the customer.
9. Certification
9.1. Where required, the appropriate electrical certification will be provided following completion of the relevant works.
9.2. Certification will be issued in accordance with applicable legislation and industry requirements.
10. Cancellation & Rescheduling
10.1. Customers are asked to provide as much notice as possible when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment.
10.2. Where a customer cancels or reschedules at short notice, HC Pyramid Electrical LTD reserves the right to charge reasonable costs incurred, including wasted labour time, travel and non-refundable materials or supplier charges.
10.3. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any cancellation or consumer rights that apply by law.
Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer and you agreed the work away from our business premises, for example in your home or over the phone, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the contract. You do not have to give a reason. To cancel, tell us by email at hcpyramidelectrical@gmail.com, by phone on 01252 447255, or in writing to the address at the foot of this website. A clear statement that you are cancelling is enough.
If you cancel in time, we will refund any payment you have made within 14 days of being told.
If you ask us in writing to start the work during the 14-day period and then cancel, you still have the right to cancel, but we may charge you a fair amount for the work already carried out up to the point you told us.
If you asked us to start within the 14 days, and you also confirmed at the time that you understood you would lose the right to cancel once the work was finished, then the right ends when the work is complete.
11. Damage & Making Good
11.1. We will take reasonable care to minimise damage to the property while carrying out the works.
11.2. Electrical work may require drilling, chasing, cutting, lifting floor coverings or making other necessary openings.
11.3. Unless specifically included in the quotation, plastering, decorating, flooring, joinery or other specialist making-good works are not included.
12. Liability
12.1. HC Pyramid Electrical LTD will carry out the works with reasonable care and skill.
12.2. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any statutory consumer rights.
12.3. Subject to the above, we will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from circumstances outside the reasonable scope of the works.
13. Complaints
13.1. If you have any concerns regarding our work, please contact HC Pyramid Electrical LTD as soon as reasonably possible so that we have an opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, rectify the issue.
13.2. We aim to resolve complaints fairly and promptly.
14. Consumer Rights
14.1. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or restrict any rights you have under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
14.2. Where these Terms & Conditions conflict with a mandatory legal requirement, the relevant legal requirement will take precedence.
15. Acceptance
Acceptance of our quotation or instruction for HC Pyramid Electrical LTD to commence work constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
